An officer-involved shooting is under investigation in Summersville. Fifty-year-old Carl Raines fired shots at several people, and when officers arrived, he fired on them. Officers returned fire and hit Raines. He was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officers weren’t hurt.
Police are still looking for 40-year-old Timothy Walding, Jr. He’s wanted for a carjacking in Dunbar, and he’s a person of interest in an earlier robbery at the Hot Spot on Washington Street. He eluded deputies in Sissonville.
Charleston police are investigating a shooting at the Vista View apartments. A 28-year-old man was shot in the arm. He’s in stable condition. Police are looking for the gunman, 27-year-old Denzil Weatherspooon
COVID-19 numbers are spiking in Kanawha County. Almost forty cases were reported over the weekend. That’s the highest number of cases since the pandemic began. More than 15-hundred people have been tested I the last three days, and there is testing event today at Capital High School.
