Several NFL teams are eyeing the Greenbrier resort as a potential training facility if their normal sites can’t by open in time for training camp. The resort has previously hosted training camps for New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans. The NFL continues to plan for a regular season that will start September 10th.
The Summers County school system is under scrutiny. The State School Superintendent’s Office is calling for a special circumstance review because of invoice inconsistencies. Last month the school board voted to search for a new superintendent, and chose not to renew Superintendent Kimberly Rhodes’ contract.

Two men at the Rolling Meadow Village housing complex in Ripley are accused of sexually abusing at least five children at the complex ranging in age from 3-to-14-years-old, and authorities think there could be more.
A 70-year-old man from Kanawha County is the most recent COVID-19 death in West Virginia, bringing the death toll to 59. There are six new positive cases of the virus, for a total of over 14-hundred statewide. The positive test rate is just over two-percent.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will reopen campgrounds next week. Governor Justice’s reopening plan allows only West Virginia residents to enter campgrounds until further notice, and limits gatherings at shelters to 25 people.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday morning in Institute. It happened just after midnight in the 200 block of Elm Street and a woman told law enforcement that she didn’t see who fired the shot. The injuries are non-life-threatening.
