Voter Turnout is Expected to Increase for General Election

Secretary of State Mac Warner said the voter turnout for the primary election Tuesday was around 35%. Warner expects a 60-70% turnout for the general election in November. The classroom will be different in the fall

It is unlikely that students will be in the classroom five days a week when school resumes in the fall and lunch will be in classrooms, rather than the cafeteria. School officials say it’s important to get kids back into the classroom, but it will be significantly different than it was before the virus.

Nursing home visits can restart

Beginning next Wednesday, if nursing homes haven’t had a positive case of COVID-19 in two weeks, limited family visits will be allowed. You will have to make an appointment, and face masks and social distancing will be madatory.

COVID-19 cases increase at churches

State health officials say there are more than twenty positive COVID-19 cases associated with churches in West Virginia since in-person services resumed. Governor Justice is encouraging social distancing by sitting in every other pew and wearing a mask.

COVID-19 cases increase by 14

There are fourteen new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, for a total of almost 22-hundred positive cases statewide. The death toll remains at 85, and the positive test rate is below two-percent.
