A Ravenswood man will spend more than a year in prison for stealing guns. Nineteen-year-old James Evans pleaded guilty to breaking into the Old and New Sports Store and stealing more than twenty firearms.

A former Starbucks employee is accused of stealing five-thousand-dollars’ worth of gift cards. Eighteen-year-old Paige Gritt is charged with embezzlement. She admitted to giving away several Starbucks gifts cards to friends and family.

More rain is one the way later today…Heavy rain caused problems overnight. A man and child were rescued from a vehicle on South Pinch Road, water was over the tires. And a tree fell down on Kanawha boulevard East near the Belle exit.

Dunbar City Council voted Thursday not to open the city’s public pool this year. The city said on its Facebook page that they’ve not been able to secure the number of Life Savers and Managers to run the pool safely.

The City of Charleston’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering free morning yoga classes beginning next week on Magic Island. Social distancing will be enforced, and the classes will be limited to 25 people.
