Passenger car traffic is down 70-percent on the Wet Virginia Turnpike. Trucks are still rolling, and the travel plazas are full every night. Toll booths are open, but officials are developing contingency plans if necessary.

Man charged in deadly fire

A Charleston man is under arrest for starting a fire that killed one man and injured another person. Forty-three-year-old Jerry Walker is accused of setting a house on fire that spread to a second house. He’s charged with arson and murder.

Officer-involved shooting at Renaissance Circle

A man was shot and wounded in an officer-involved shooting at an apartment at Renaissance Circle. Twenty-one-year-old Cole Sams stole a dump truck, and then tried to break-in to two apartments. He refused to drop his gun when he was shot. Sams is in stable condition. No officers were hurt.
