Marshall Artists Series is Postponed

A Marshall Artists Series performance is being postponed. The performance of Broadway’s Waitress originally scheduled for Monday, April 27 has been pushed back to Thursday, November 19. All tickets for the original date will be honored at the rescheduled date.

School Playgrounds are Closed

Kanawha County Schools is closing all of its recreational areas on its properties after reports of groups congregating. WVU is lifting people’s spirits with a special rendition of “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” It features a cast of people with ties to the Mountain State, including country singer Brad Paisley, actress Jennifer Garner, and head football coach Neal Brown. The video is posted on WVU’s Facebook page.

City of Charleston waiving late payment penalties

The City of Charleston is waiving all penalties for late payment of first quarter businesses taxes. City officials recognize that some businesses are facing cash flow problems, and request that if a business can’t pay, to submit a return without the payment included.

National Park Service closing campgrounds

The National Park Service is closing campgrounds and restrooms in all areas of New River Gorge National River, Gauley River Nation Recreation Area and bluestone National Scenic River. Hiking trails and river access will remain open.
