Trump crticizes Manchin on Twitter

President Trump is criticizing Democratic Senator Joe Manchin for voting to convict him on two articles of impeachment. Trump tweeted that he was “ver surprised and disappointed” with Manchin’s vote. Manchin says the House managers presented enough evidence to convict the President.

Governor declares State of Emergency in seven counties

Governor Justice has declared a state of emergency in seven West Virginia counties as the result of heavy rain this week. Some areas received over three-inches of rain between Tuesday and Thursday, resulting in creek and river flooding. The Tug Fork River reached moderate flood stage, and recorded levels in Bradshaw.

Water rescues in Malden

There have been two water rescues in the Malden area. Firefighters pulled two adults and a child to safety on Dry Branch Drive. Another water rescue happened at the same location earlier in the evening. No one was hurt. First responders urge you not to drive through standing water.

Felon facing multiple charges after traffic stop

A three-time convicted felon is under arrest after an early morning traffic stop. Twenty-nine-year-old Mark Johnson failed a field sobriety test, and when he was handcuffed he begged not be arrested because he was on federal probation, and then tried to take off on foot. Missing mother and daughter found safe

A mother and daughter who’ve been missing for months have been found. Twenty-seven-year-old Kimberly Cline, and her daughter Abagail, were located in another state, and do not want their location revealed. The pair has been missing since November.

Middle school band teacher accused of soliciting students

Chapmanville Middle School band teacher, 27-year-old Cameron Bookman, is charged with attempted solicitation of a minor for child pornography. He’s accused of asking students to send nude photos to each other on social media. Bookman claims he aske the question in a “joking manner,” because they were all friends.

ACLU accuses Morrisey of violating First Amendment

The West Virginia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is accusing state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey of blocking critics on social media in violation of the First Amendment. Morrisey’s office says it does not block anyone on government controlled social media platforms.

Governor dedicates $1 million to 2020 Census

Governor Justice is dedicating one-million-dollars from the state’s contingency fund to encourage West Virginians to participate in the 2020 Census. Winter Weather advisory until 1 p.m.

Kanawha County schools are on a two hour delay today, and Cabell County schools are closed. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory until one o’clock this afternoon.
