Wind speeds broke 100 mph in Fayette County during Sunday storms

The National Weather Service confirmed that a microburst (straight-line winds) impacted a quarter-mile long area along Rich Creek Road north of Ansted in Fayette County on Sunday. Winds were estimated at 110 mph, higher than those estimated in the tornadoes in Jackson, Ohio (90 mph) and Winfield, West Virginia (75 mph).
