Gov. Justice considers eliminating extra unemployment benefits

Governor Justice is considering getting rid of three-hundred-dollars-a-week in additional unemployment benefits for thousands of West Virginians. He says employers can’t fill jobs, and people need to go back to work. Nine other states have already decided to eliminate the additional benefits.

An employee for AmerisourceBergen, one of the “big three” drug manufactures; will be back on the witness stand today in the opioid trial. He talked about interactions with the Drug Enforcement Agency and said that one distribution point was temporarily shut down by the DEA for not reporting suspicious orders.

Man fires shots in Williamson neighborhood

A man is under arrest for firing nearly twenty shots throughout a Williamson neighborhood. Twenty-five-year-old Andrew Hicks was standing in his front yard randomly firing a gun. He fired at police, but they did not return fire. Hicks eventually listened to verbal commands and put down the gun.

Man arrested in ATV pursuit

A man is under arrest after an ATV pursuit in the Crum area. Officers pursued the ATV on Jennies Creek Road, and then the suspect took off on foot. Police caught up with him and found a revolver in his back pocket, along with crystal meth.

70-year-old dies in house fire

A 70-year-old man died in a house fire in the Harts Creek area. The blaze broke out at the corner of route-10 and Dry Branch Road. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Colonial Pipeline back online

The Colonial Pipeline is back online, but it could take a couple of days for things to get back to normal because panic buyers. Gas stations in Roane County had to ration gas for first responder as cars lined up down the block. The pipeline does not supply West Virginia.

Jill Biden Visits Charleston Today
