Gov. Justice signs transgender athlete bill

Governor Justice signed a bill that bans transgender athletes from competing in female sports in middle and high school, and college. Justice signed the bill, despite a warning that the NCAA could retaliate and decide not to hold college tournaments in the state.

Marshall University President stepping down

Marshall University President Jerome Gilbert is stepping down when his contract runs out in July 2022. He says for a variety of personal and professional reasons he will not seek a contract extension, and made the announcement now to give the board ample time to search for a replacement.

Police looking for suspect in KJ Taylor murder

Police are looking for 19-year-old Dekotis Thomas. He’s accused in the fatal shooting of Capital High School Senior KJ Taylor earlier this month. Thomas is not a stranger to police. He has been arrested several times, most recently on weapons charges in October 2019.
