Man killed in Hurricane house fire

A man who was pulled from a burning townhouse in Hurricane has died from his injuries. The fire broke out Tuesday night on Fairway Gardens Drive. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Charleston approves paving project

Charleston City Council approved a project to resurface almost sixty city streets and alleys. Repaving is scheduled for areas downtown on Kanawha Boulevard from Capital Street to Greenbrier Street, in addition to streets in Kanawha City to the Edgewood District. State revenue for April was just above estimates, even though the tax filing deadline was pushed back a month. Collections were almost 540-million-dollars, which is almost two-million-dollars higher than estimates.
