NCAA threatens to pull championship events over transgender bans

The NCAA is threatening to pull championship events over transgender sports bans, but Governor Justice says he doesn’t plan on vetoing the law. The Governor says he will either sign it, or let the bill become law. The NCAA says it might not hold college championships in states with transgender bans.

Tax Day delayed until next month

April 15th is usually the deadline to pay your taxes, but for the second year in a row the tax due date is being pushed back. You have until May 17th to submit your federal and state return, but if you pay estimated taxes, your first quarterly payment is due today.

Man accused of getting paid for work he didn’t do

A Hurricane man is accused of getting paid more than seven-thousand-dollars for a construction job he didn’t complete. Forty-three-year-old William Hurst is charged with obtaining money under false pretenses. He was given the money as a deposit, but never did any of the work agreed to in the contract.
