A man and woman from Dunbar are under arrest for stealing a truck. Twenty-two-year-old Tyler Chapman was captured on surveillance video checking door handles, and 22-year-old Shaila Bradshaw acted as a lookout. The admitted to taking the truck and ditching it in the woods.
A man is in stable condition after an officer-involved shooting on the city’s West Side. Thirty-three-year-old Denaul Dickerson lunged at officers with a knife when he was shot. The City of Huntington and Cabell County filed a lawsuit against three major drug distributors for funneling opioid pills into small communities. Glenville State Junior Kristen Lopez is the first recipient of the “Cassie Johnson Memorial Scholarship.” Johnson was killed in the line of duty in December. Glenville State plans to endow the one-thousand-dollar scholarship, which will be awarded annually to a criminal justice major.
Marshall University’s Board of Governors is approving a slight increase in fees. Out of state under grads, graduate and professional students will see their fees go up just under two-percent, but in-state undergraduate students are exempt from the increase.
