Kanawha County Schools will offer a free summer academy to help kids get back on track after months of virtual learning. The program will give students the opportunity to retake a class or catch up on credits. The free summer academy is available to all students pre-K through high school for the month of June.

Huntington putting a stop to illegal bars

The Huntington City Council is considering two ordinances to put a stop to illegal bars. The city attorney says there has been a surge of businesses opening as “game rooms,” in an effort to circumvent the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration and city requirements for bars.

An Alkol homeowner came face-to-face with a naked man trying to break into his home and two o’clock in the morning. The homeowner shot the suspect in the shoulder. He’s in stable condition. No charges are being filed against homeowner.

Woman charged with neglect for leaving child home alone

A forty-year-old woman is facing child neglect charges for leaving her nine-year-old son home alone for an extended period of time while she went to the store to buy cigarettes.
