Illegal dumpsite in Mingo County under investigation

The Mingo County Sheriff’s Department is trying to track down who’s responsible for a massive dumpsite. The Sheriff’s office received complaints earlier in the week about the trash on abandoned mine property along Jennies Creek Road in the Kermit area. COVID-19 spike in WV

COVID-19 cases are spiking in West Virginia. The state Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting nearly five-hundred new cases of the virus in the past 24-hours, and seven more people have died.

Senator Manchin calls for immigration plan

Senator Joe Manchin got a first-hand look at what’s going on at the U.S.-Mexico border. He’s calling on Congress to address the rise in migrants entering the country. Manchin says he would back a measure that includes a pathway to citizenship for some immigrants and enhancements to border security.

Rally against tax cut plans

A rally is scheduled for eleven o’clock this morning, on the north side of the Capitol, calling on legislators to vote against any cuts to state personal income tax. Organizers say the tax cut proposals would slash state revenue, resulting in less funding for programs that families count on.

No injuries in bus crash

No one was hurt in a crash involving two Kanawha County school buses. It happened near the Greenbriar Street exit. Around thirty kids were on the two buses.
