WV man pleads not guilty to assaulting Capitol Police

The West Virginia sandwich shop owner who is accused of assaulting three Capitol police officers during the January 6th riots is pleading not guilty. George Tanios asked for a jury trial. He and another man are charged with assaulting three officers with a deadly weapon.

CAMC seeing jump in COVID-19 cases

Over 465-thousand West Virginias are fully vaccinated. DHHR is reporting over three-hundred new cases of COVID-19 and two more people have died. Charleston Area Medical Center is seeing a jump in cases, and are averaging about one-hundred patients per day.

WV pausing Johnson & Johnson vaccine

West Virginia is pausing the use of the single-dose Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine following a recommendation by the CDC after reports of potentially dangerous blood clots. Health officials say it will not have a significant impact on vaccinations. The state has enough Moderna and Pfizer vaccines to fill the gap.
