Bikers rally to change WV helmet law

Bikers rallied at the Capitol hoping to change helmet laws in the state. The new bill would allow anyone over 21-year-old with two years of experience choose whether or not they want to wear a helmet.

West Virginia Receives Funds to Target HIV Surge

West Virginia will receive nearly $2.4 million from the federal government to fund HIV prevention and treatment. The surge is clustered primarily around Charleston and Huntington. The state’s U.S. senators,Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito, announced the new funding last week.

Sissonville Fire is Under Investigation

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire that happened early Saturday near Sissonville. Dispatchers said the fire was reported just after 1:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of Broad Tree Run. The cause of the fire is unknown.

WVU basketball coach Bob Huggins pick up his 900th career win during the Mountaineers 84-to-67 win over Morehead State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The win sends WVU into Sunday’s second round matchup against number-11 seed Syracuse.
