Thousands still out of power
West Virginia still has more than twenty-thousand power outages. Appalachian Power says it could take until the end of the week to restore power in some areas. Outages peaked at 97-thousand customers due to back-back-ice storms more than ten days ago.
Four fires under investigation at apartment complex
The West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after firefighters responded to four different fires at the same apartment complex. The fires broke out on three different days on Albany Drive. One firefighter was hurt.
Woman walks into ER with gunshot wound
South Charleston police are investigating after a woman walked into Thomas Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. She’s expected to be okay. No arrests have been made.
Cabell County Board of Education buys Sears building
The Cabell County Board of Education voted to move forward with the over five-and-a-half-million-dollar purchase of the former Sears property at Huntington Mall in Barboursville. The building will be turned into a high-tech career center for training in aerospace, coding, and local industries.
Apartment Complex Has Four Fires in Four Days
Chapmanville firefighters said they responded to four fires at the same apartment complex between Thursday and Sunday. CAMC Increases Visitation Hours
Charleston Area Medical Center’s hospitals are expanding visitation. The hospital system will now allow one adult visitor per inpatient per day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to the CAMC website.
