City Council considers new needle exchange ordinance

Charleston City Council is considering a new bill requiring harm reduction groups that distribute needles to obtain state certification, and it takes away the Police Chief’s power to authorize a group. Mayor Amy Goodwin sent the resolution to the Public Safety Committee for review.

Justice inauguration set for Friday

Governor Jim Justice’s inauguration ceremony is set for on the north side of the Capitol building. Attendance will be limited due to COVID-19 protocols.
