A Charleston man is being treated for second degree burns and smoke inhalation at Pittsburgh hospital after a house fire on Ruffner Avenue. Firefighters pulled the man out of the house. He was found conscious by the front door.

West Virginia shattered its daily record for new COVID-19 cases, with almost 25-hundred new case of the virus. It’s the first time the state has recorded more than two-thousand cases in a single day. Twenty-three more West Virginians have died from COVID-19, and the state’s daily positive test rate is almost eight-percent.

The power is back on for about one-thousand Appalachian Power customers. A power pole snapped at a nearby apartment complex causing a power line to fall onto a home on Austin Drive near MacCorkle Avenue. The home was vacant, and no one was hurt. AEP has replaced several poles near St. Albans.
Bridgeport police are investigating a murder-suicide in the Heritage Farms subdivision. Officers responded to a shots fired call and when they arrived they found a car crashed into a home and a husband and wife dead in the car.
The Kenova Police Department is looking for a man posing as a police officer. The suspect knocked on the door of a home, and said police were going door-to-door, checking to make sure everything was okay. The homeowner said everything was fine, and imposter left.
