AT&T outages in eastern Kentucky

A-T-and-T customers in eastern Kentucky are reporting service outages due to the explosion, which was at an A-T-and-T data center. The outage is disrupting phone, text and internet services, and keeping some cans from connecting to 911 services.

First responders review local protocols after Nashville bombing

An RV explosion in Nashville has local firefighters thinking about their own response. South Charleston first responders say the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department would respond with their bomb squad, and they would treat it like any other burning building. The FBI is investigating the explosion in Nashville, and possible human remains found at the site.

Fire destroys Charleston home

Fire destroyed on home on Sharon Road. Flames were shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived. No one was home at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Warming center open at Salvation Army

The City of Charleston is opening warming centers for those in need of shelter. A warming center is open at the Salvation Army at Tennessee Avenue and Randolph Street. Social distancing guidelines are in place. And masks are required.

Biggest snow storm in four years

It was the first white Christmas in Charleston since 2010. The Kanawha Valley got three or four inches, and western West Virginia picked ups as much as nine inches of snow. We will get just above freezing this afternoon, which will cause some slick icy roads tonight.

WVDOH prepares for winter storm

WV leads nation in COVID-19 vaccinations

West Virginia continues to lead the country in COVID-19 vaccinations. Governor Justice says the state is on track to finish vaccinations at all long-term care facilities by Monday. More than 18-thousand people have been vaccinated, so far.
