Governor Justice says general revenue collection for November came in over twenty-million-dollars above estimates. The state has had a surplus in each of the first five months of this fiscal year. Revenue is up over nine-percent about last year.

Kanawha County reporting record number of COVID-19 cases

Kanawha County is reporting a record number of new COVID-19 cases in a single day. There are almost 140 new case of the virus, and the state is reporting a record high number of COVID-19 deaths. Twenty-three people have died in the last 24-hours. There are almost 17-thousand active cases of the virus.

Library’s new sky bridge in place

The Kanawha County Public Library’s new sky bridge is in place. The bridge will connect the third floor library to the Summers Street parking garage. The project is set to finish in early 2022, but is ahead of schedule and may be completed by late next year.

Man arrested for shooting his wife

A woman is recovering in the hospital after she was shot in the head by her husband. The pair got into a fight over an alleged affair when the shooting happened. The husband is under arrest and charged with malicious wounding.

Man pleads guilty to attacking restaurant owner

A Huntington man is pleading guilty to attacking and robbing the owner of G.D. Ritzy’s in April 2018. Fifty-one-year-old Aaron Ingram will spend fifty-years in prison for robbery and attempted murder. The owner, Sidney Torlone, was severely injured after being struck in the head several times.
