WV’s mask mandate going to court

West Virginia’s mask mandate is going to court. A Hurricane restaurant filed the lawsuit claiming the governor doesn’t have the authority to issue a mandate, and can only enforce laws enacted by the legislature.

Second highest daily total of COVID-19 cases

There are over 11-hundred new cases of COVID-19 statewide, that’s the second highest daily total since the pandemic started, and eleven more people have died. The daily positive test rate is over five-percent. The number of red counties on the state alert map jumped from three to six.

Power cut to Scott Depot homes

The power was knocked out to two homes in Scott Depot when a garbage truck snagged a power line. Residents say they may have to pay for 16-hundred-dollars each to get it fixed. Waste Management has denied the claim, and Appalachian Power is still reviewing the incident.

Man accused of threatning Governor Justice

A Charleston man is accused of making terroristic threats against Governor Justice and his staff. Forty-nine-year-old Steven Long is accused of making a threatening social media post calling for public execution and lynch mob justice.

CAMC Has Twenty COVID Patients in ICU
