Cabell County is rescheduling trick-or-treating. It was originally scheduled for Thursday night, but is being moved to Saturday because of inclement weather. The change includes Huntington, Barboursville and Milton.

Marshall University will continue in-person and online classes

Marshall University will continue with a combination of face-to-face and online classes for the spring semester due to ongoing COVID-19 health concerns. Friday’s football game between the Thundering Herd and Florida International University is being postponed due to COVID-19 issues at FIU.

Nearly 500 new cases of COVID-19 in WV

Eight more people have died from COVID-19 in West Virginia, including three from Cabell County and one from Kanawha County. There are over 480 new cases of the virus, and the daily positive test rated jumped to almost three-and-a-half-percent.

Last day to request absentee ballot

Today is the last day to request an absentee ballot in West Virginia, and early voting ends on Saturday. More than 240-thousand votes have already been cast statewide, and county clerks estimate the wait time t early voting sites is between fifteen and thirty minutes.

New power lines in Hernshaw area

Appalachian Power is planning an upgrade to the power grid in Kanawha County. Four miles of power line will be built in the Hernshaw to replace 100-year-old transmission line and reduce the change of landslides in the area.

Social media post shows damage to vacan Kmart building

A social media post is getting the attention of business owners and police. The photograph shows damage to HVAC units on the roof of the former Kmart building in Kanawha City. The units have been stripped, causing about 150-thousand-dollars in damage. The building has been vacant for almost a year.
