Dunbar pool will remain closed this summer

Governor Justice has given the okay for public swimming pools to reopen, but many municipal pools have decided not to reopen. Dunbar is the latest to decide to not open the city’s pool this summer. City Council says there are not enough workers to safely run the pool.

Starbucks employee steals $5,000 in gift cards

A former Starbucks employee is accused of stealing five-thousand-dollars’ worth of gift cards. Eighteen-year-old Paige Gritt is charged with embezzlement. She admitted to giving away several Starbucks gifts cards to friends and family.

Dunbar Decides Not to Open Its Pool

Dunbar City Council voted Thursday not to open the city’s public pool this year. The city said on its Facebook page that they’ve not been able to secure the number of Life Savers and Managers to run the pool safely.

Free yoga classes on Magic Island

The City of Charleston’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering free morning yoga classes beginning next week on Magic Island. Social distancing will be enforced, and the classes will be limited to 25 people.

Flights picking up at Yeager Airport

Spirit Airlines will resume seasonal service from Yeager Airport to Myrtle Beach in July. Airport officials say passenger traffic is up after record lows in April, but it could take up to two years for the airport to get back to normal.
