A Winfield police officer has resigned after making inappropriate Facebook posts about protestors across the country. Patrolman Noah Garcelon admitted to making the posts. He’s also a member of the West Virginia National Guard, and faces disciplinary action.

WV revenue collection off nearly $40 million in May

State revenue collection was off nearly 40-million-dollars in May, but Governor Justice says that’s better than expected. There’s one month left in the fiscal year, and Justice says he has a “rock solid plan” that the state is going to be cash positive by the end of June.

Pharmacy involved in money laundering scheme

Meds2Go Express Pharmacy in Alum Creek has been convicted of money laundering in a scheme between the pharmacy and Hope Clinic to dispense opioids for no legitimate medical purpose. The pharmacy was shut down and will pay 250-thousand-dollars in restitution.

Broken water main floods Maccorkle Ave.

A broken water main flooded MacCorkle Avenue, near the Patrick Street Bridge. Service was disrupted to some customers, and a detour is setup around the break. West Virginia American Water says repairs will be finished this morning.

Peaceful demonstrations continue

Demonstrations continue in reaction to George Floyd’s death. Protestors blocked traffic at the corner of Pennsylvania and Washington Street. Charleston police are coordinating with protestors to keep them safe.

East Side stabbing under investigation

Charleston police are investigating a stabbing on the East end. The victim was stabbed at the Living AIDS Memorial Garden, and taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. A person is in custody.

Another Lawsuit is Filed Over VA Hospital Deaths

A third lawsuit was filed Monday involving the deaths of patients over wrongful insulin injections at a West Virginia veterans hospital.
