Governor names coronavirus czar

Governor Justice named WVU Medicine Vice President and WVU Health Sciences Executive Dean Dr. Clay Marsh as the state’s coronavirus czar. Marsh says he’s encouraged that the number of confirmed cases of those being tested for the virus is staying steady at around five-percent.

No eveictions during coronavirus outbreak

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is sending warning letters to landlords who are threatening to evict tenants. Morrisey says some landlords are trying to cut corners on the eviction process during the coronavirus pandemic, and West Virginia has strict laws protecting tenants from unjust eviction.

WV Toyota plant closed until mid-April

A significant drop in car sales will keep the Toyota engine and transmission plant in Putnum County closed a little longer. All North American Toyota factories will remain closed until mid April. The Buffalo plant is scheduled to restart April 20th.

27 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in WV

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department confirms fifteen positive cases of coronavirus. Health officials are still waiting on over eighty tests from people who were exposed at Brookdale Charleston Gardens. There are 27 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, bringing the total to 76.

Road Work Continues on the Kanawha City Interchange

Nightly construction will resume on repairs at the Kanawha City Interchange, Exit 95, of Interstate 77/64.
