COVID-19 death toll over 70

A 73-year-old Jackson County woman has died from the COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll to 71. There are ten new positive cases for a total of over 16-hundred.

COVID-19 spike in Eastern Panhandle

There is a spike in positive COVID-19 tests in the Eastern Panhandle. Positive test results are over three-percent in Berkeley and Jefferson counties. Berkeley County now has the most confirmed cases in the state, with nearly 250 positive cases.

Catholic churches will reopen Sunday

Catholic parishes will reopen for mass this weekend for the first time since March. The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston has approved nearly 95-percent of parish’s safety plans. Social distancing and face masks are required.

Charleston Town Center reopens with social distancing

Charleston Town Center is officially open, but with new hours and new guidelines. The mall is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Social distancing is encouraged; stores have capacity limitations and arrows to show you where to go.

Parades Honor Area Students

Two parades on Thursday honored students in Kanawha County. Seniors from Sissonville High School drove the normal homecoming route and supporters lined the route while Principal Ron Reedy handed out diplomas at the end, in front of the school.
