Phase 2 of reopening plan

West Virginia is transitioning to the second phase of the Governor Justice’s reopening plan today. That includes opening hair salons and barber shops by appointment, small businesses with less than ten employees can open their doors, and restaurants are open for outdoor dining and take out.

Federal prisoner tests COVID-19 positive

An inmate at the federal prison near Glenville tested positive for COVID-19. Despite objections from state leaders, more than thirty out-of-state prisoners were transferred to the prison. The union representing federal correctional officers held a protest over the weekend objecting to the transfer.

COVID-19 cases drop in Kanawha County

Kanawha, Jackson, and Ohio counties are off the hotspot list. Eight counties remain on the list and are still subject to stay at home orders. Kanawha County Schools Continue Meal Plan This Week

The Kanawha County Schools’ five-day boxed feeding program will be delivered on the same schedule as last week with buses leaving at 10:30 a.m. today for all areas expect Sissonville.
