More Counties Removed from Hotspot List

Gov. Jim Justice said Monday that Cabell, Wayne and Wood counties are being removed from the hot spot list and some restrictions will be lifted. Kanawha, Jackson, and Ohio counties were removed from the hot spot list over the weekend. Marion, Berkeley, Jefferson, Monongalia and Harrison counties remain.

Phase 2 of reopening plan

West Virginia is transitioning to the second phase of the Governor Justice’s reopening plan today. That includes opening hair salons and barber shops by appointment, small businesses with less than ten employees can open their doors, and restaurants are open for outdoor dining and take out.

Federal prisoner tests COVID-19 positive

An inmate at the federal prison near Glenville tested positive for COVID-19. Despite objections from state leaders, more than thirty out-of-state prisoners were transferred to the prison. The union representing federal correctional officers held a protest over the weekend objecting to the transfer.

COVID-19 cases drop in Kanawha County
