Humanities Council Posts Online Content

New Hospice Site Opens at CAMC

A new hospice care unit is opening up in Charleston. Charleston Area Medical Center announced the opening of a new 12-bed inpatient hospice unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Kanawha City. The new inpatient unit at CAMC will not replace the two Hubbard Hospice Houses in Kanawha County.

Gas prices continue to fall

Prices at the pump continue to fall. AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in West Virginia is $1.72. that’s down four-cents from a week ago.

Hospitals reopen for elective procedures

Charleston Area Medical Center will reopen today for elective surgeries and other procedures. Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center have also been approved to resume elective procedures. The hospitals say all proper safety guidelines are in place to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

14 new cases of COVID-19 in WV

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department is reporting 165 positive cases of COVID-19 and four deaths from the virus. Statewide almost 11-hundred people have tested positive and the death toll is up to 37.
