A Gallipolis man is under arrest for shooting and killing his wife. Thirty-eight-year-old Christopher Holsinger is accused of shooting his wife at a home in Addison Township. Police are investigating.

Police are looking for the thieves who stole a vintage truck from the Rand area. Police found the truck partially burned and stripped in the Elkview area. Investigators say the vehicle passed through the Martin Hollow Road area, and are asking anyone with security video to contact the sheriff’s office.
Rescue crews pulled an empty kayak from the Elk River following reports of a missing 12-year-old boy. The search has been called off. Searchers didn’t find anything, and say it was a false alarm. The kayak may have come untied somewhere upstream.
The first jury trial since March gets underway today at the Kanawha County Courthouse. Cynthia Gatewood is accused of fatally stabbing another woman last year in Sissonville. The courtroom has been upgraded with new technology and modified for health precautions.

Park Place Cinema has reopened. The movie theater shut down in July because of COVID-19 and a lack of new movies. The theater says it’s implementing a program called “cinema safe,” that will block off every other row and requires customers to have three seats in between groups. Face masks are also required.
