Man facing life in prison on drug & weapons charges

A jury found a Cabell County man guilty of drug and gun charges. Police found more than one-thousand-kilograms of fentanyl at a home in Barboursville last year. Forty-six-year-old Steven McCallister was found guilty of distribution of fentanyl and faces ten years to life in prison.

Four more people have died from COVID-19 in West Virginia, including an 86-year-old Kanawha County man. There are just under one-hundred new cases of the virus, and the state’s positive test rate is over two-percent.

COVID-19 outbreak linked to church

A COVID-19 outbreak at a Taylor County nursing home is being traced back to a local church. A care provider contracted the virus through an outbreak at the West Hill Methodist Church. Nearly thirty residents and six staff members have tested positive for the virus.
