The state School Building Authority approved seven-million-dollars in funding for a dozen school construction and maintenance projects. Several security and HVAC projects were approved. The largest is a one-million-dollar addition and renovation project at Ruthlawn Elementary School.
A few hundred parents, coaches, and teachers gathered outside the state Capitol, chanting “let the play,” and “open schools.” Protestors say the color-coded metrics aren’t fair and are inaccurate, and want to get rid of the map entirely.
