Backboard shattered in JV basketball game

Riverside High School basketball player, 14-year-old Braydin Ward, went in for a dunk and shattered the backboard at Tuesday night’s junior varsity game with George Washington. No glass fell, but the game was canceled as a precaution.

Escaped inmate sentenced to five more years

Five more years will be added to Todd Boyes sentence. He’s the inmate who walked out of the South Central Regional Jail in 2017 and was recaptured a few days later trying to cross the border into Mexico. Boyes is already serving up to 25-years for attempted murder.

Three teenagers charged in Lesage shooting

Three teenagers are facing charges in a shooting that injured a man in Lesage. The victim was checking on his father’s property when the suspects fired three shots into his vehicle and hit him in the arm. One suspect is charged with malicious wounding.

Three men arrested for cell tower break-ins

Three men are under arrest for breaking into several cell tower sites in Cabin Creek. The men stole copper wire and did thousands of dollars in damage, knocking out cell service on the Turnpike. All three suspects are charged with breaking and entering.

In the middle of Tuesday night’s junior varsity game with George Washington, a Riverside High School boys basketball player rebounded a ball, came down for a dunk and the backboard shattered. Glass didn’t fall because of break protection, but the remainder of the game was canceled. 14-year-old Braydin Ward made the dunk.
