Snow is Expected Today

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. today for Kanawha, Lincoln, Mingo, Logan, Boone, Clay, McDowell and Wyoming counties. Up to 3 inches of snow is expected. Summers, Monroe and Greenbrier counties can expect snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.

Schltzsky’s Deli closing

Schlotzsky’s Deli is closing it’s West Virginia locations due to a dispute over the future of the franchise. The owner of the South Charleston location says he doesn’t agree with the changes the company is making. The restaurant is changing its name to Austin Eatery, and is planning to serve alcohol.

Armstead working on Supreme Court budget

Tim Armstead is the new chief justice of the state Supreme Court. He was chosen by his fellow justices last fall. Armstead will work with lawmakers on the Court’s budget for next fiscal year. It’s the first budget since a Constitutional amendment gave oversight to the legislature.

Legislators holding interim committee meetings

State legislators will hold several interim committee meetings over the next two days. The topics will range from the state Inventory Tax to foster care, and training for teachers. The regular 60-day legislative session begins on Wednesday.

Suspects in Ohio shooting arrested in WV

Athens police arrested two suspects in connection to an Ohio shooting. Twenty-six-year-old Dylan Secoy is charged with murder, and 18-year-old Rachael Povosky is charged with complicity to murder in the death of Floyd Hart.

Person of interest arrested in teenager’s murder

Charleston police have arrested a person of interest in the shooting death of a teenager. Twenty-three-year-old Qynell Bradshaw was taken into custody during a traffic stop. Bradshaw is the ex-boyfriend of 18-year-old Laurina Blake who was found dead on November 30th.
