A record number of West Virginians are still filing for unemployment benefits. About 36-hundred people filed claims last week. More than 250-thousand unemployment claims have been filed since the pandemic forced shutdowns in March.

A man, who was hospitalized after attacking a Boone County deputy, and escaping from custody after a standoff, is out of the hospital. Forty-six-year-old James McCleese is now behind bars for kidnapping, and is facing additional charges.
