There are over thirty new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, bringing the total close to 27-hundred. There are seven-hundred active cases, and over 19-hundred people have recovered. The positive test is below two-percent.

Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health issued a statement saying they were “stunned and troubled” by the resignation of Dr. Cathy Slemp as West Virginia’s top doctor. Governor Justice asked Slemp to resign after expressing concerns about her leadership.

A Fayette County man is under arrest after leading police on a pursuit, and then Anthony Lively fled on foot and jumped into the Gauley River. An officer followed him in, and was able to take him into custody.

A man, who was hospitalized after attacking a Boone County deputy, and escaping from custody after a standoff, is out of the hospital. Forty-six-year-old James McCleese is now behind bars for kidnapping, and is facing additional charges.
