West Side parking meters updated

If you’re parking meter is about to expire, there’s an app for that. The City of Charleston is upgrading more than one-hundred parking meters on the west side that operate with a mobile app and offer “touchless” parking.

COVID-19 numbers continue to climb

Kanawha County’s COVID-19 cases continue to climb with nearly thirty new cases, and nearly sixty positive cases statewide, bringing the total close to 52-hundred. There are nearly eighty people hospitalized with the virus. A 67-year-old Cabell County woman has died, raising the state’s death toll to 101.

Justice meets with college & university presidents

Governor Justice held a virtual meeting with more than two dozen of the state’s college and university presidents to discuss their reopening plans for the fall. Justice says there are some real challenges, but wants the schools to get back to as close to normal as possible.

Man arrested for skipping court hearing

A Charleston man is under arrest for skipping out on a circuit court hearing. Twenty-eight-year-old Qynell Bradshaw was supposed to appear via phone for a June 5th hearing. He’s facing malicious wounding and weapons charges. Police received a tip and arrested Bradshaw at Renaissance Circle.

Dunbar woman charged with child neglect

Police found a Dunbar woman who appeared to be impaired and trying to start her cars, so she could take her son to get ice cream. Then, officers found her husband had overdosed inside their home. Twenty-four-year-old Jessica Lizotte is charge with child neglect.
