Free flu shots

The Kanawha Charleston Health Department is offering free flu vaccines this week during normal clinic hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. West Virginia has reported widespread flu activity for over a month. The CDC recommends anyone six-months and older should get a flu shot every year.

WVU expanding to downtown Charleston

West Virginia University is expanding its College of Law, Business College, and extension services to downtown Charleston. WVU is leasing two floors in the Equities House, near the South Side Bridge, and will open this month.

More lane closure on I-64 bridge

There will be more lane closures this week on the Eugene A. Carter Bridge on I-64. Crews are working on the bridge deck and will shut down the eastbound slow lane from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday. The other two lanes will be shut down over the weekend.

Kids facing charges for throwing rocks at cars

Two kids are facing charges for throwing rocks at cars on I-64 in Milton. No one was hurt, but there is thousands of dollars in damage to almost a dozen vehicles. The suspects are facing destruction of property charges. Their names won’t be released because of their age.

Fire destroys East End home

A fire destroyed a home on Lee Street. There were four apartments in the building, and the fire started on the second floor. Everyone made it out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
