The Kanawha County Circuit Clerk’s Office is closed until the end of the week after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The worker has not been in the building since July 2nd, and all other employees who had contact with the person are being quarantined.
St. Albans police are investigating after a body was found in the Kanawha River. Emergency crews recovered the body near the boat ramp at Roadside Park. The Medical Examiner’s office will make a positive identification.
A Logan County man is under arrest for threatening Walgreens employee and demanding 400-thousand-dollars he claimed to have won from the lottery. Thirty-six-year-old Clifford Caldwell Jr. later admitted to being under the influence, and police determined he was unarmed.
Police are looking for a person of interest in a robbery and carjacking in Dunbar. Forty-year-old Timothy Walding Jr. is wanted for robbing the Hot Spot on Washington Street and then stealing a car a few hours later. Walding was last seen when he crashed the car and ran off in Sissonville.
Police are looking for the suspect who shot and wounded a woman on 7th Avenue. She was shot in the neck and the leg, and was taken to a local hospital. There is no word on her condition.
