Police are investigating after a man rammed his pickup into a motel room when he got into an argument with his girlfriend. It happened at the Knights Inn on MacCorkle Avenue. There is some structural damage, but no one was hurt. The driver was taken into custody.
After weeks of protests, Juneteenth was a day of celebration. Hundreds of people showed up for events yesterday on Magic Island and at a West Side Church. June 19th commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Governor Justice signed a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth in West Virginia.

Kanawha County health officials are urging anyone who has traveled to Myrtle Beach, or other tourist destinations, to get tested for COVID-19. At least fourteen cases of the virus in West Virginia are linked to Myrtle Beach travel.
Authorities have identified a man who was found dead in a motel room last week. Fifty-nine-year-old Royce Daugherty Junior was found dead last Friday at the Budget Host Inn in Malden. The cause of death Is still under investigation.
Wayne police are looking for a man who took off during a traffic stop. Jason McClure led officers on pursuit on Route-152, and crashed just outside of Wayne. He ran into the woods, and officers weren’t able to find him.
Labor lawyer Sam Petsonk is declaring victory in the Democratic primary for West Virginia Attorney General over Delegate Isaac Sponaugle. The two were locked in a race that was too close to call. Fewer than two-hundred votes separated them. Sponagle says he’s not conceding.
