The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the suspect who was wanted for a stolen vehicle in Pennsylvania and was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Kanawha County after a two-county chase. Jonathan Cook will face charges and has been arraigned in Putnam County Magistrate Court.

A 50-year-old woman from Jefferson County died from COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll to 38. The state’s overall number of positive cases is up to almost 11-hundred. The positive test rate remains below three-percent.
Some hospitals in West Virginia are performing elective surgeries. Thomas Health is rescheduling and performing surgeries, and CAMC is performing procedures that can be done in one day.
