Gov. Justice urges West Virginians to take precautions

Governor Justice is encouraging West Virginians to take precautions as the state continues to reopen. Indoor dining, and large retail stores and shopping malls can reopen today. Outdoor activities can resume, as well, including whitewater rafting, zip lining, and Kayak, bike and boat rentals.

House of worship prepare to reopen

Houses of worship are preparing to reopen this weekend. Capacity will be limited, and parishioners are encouraged to wear masks. Several churches are asking people 65 and older to stay home and watch online.

Free COVID-19 testing this weekend

Free COVID-19 testing is available this weekend in Kanawha and Cabell counties. Testing will be available tomorrow and Saturday at the Shoenbaum Family Enrichment Center in Charleston, and at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Huntington.

Officials preparing for June 9th primary

Election officials are preparing for the June 9th primary election, and early voting begins next Wednesday. Polling places will have masks and glove available, and capacity will be limited to four people to adhere to social distancing rules.

Logan city police said a young man has died from injuries after an ATV crash. 20-year old Alec Griffin died at the hospital Monday after being injured in a crash Friday. The Lincoln County school board has hired a new superintendent. Board members voted unanimously this week to hire Jeffrey Kelly for the position. The contract is for a three-year term that starts July 1 and runs until June 30, 2023.

Man Faces Charges After Mingo County Shooting Death
