Road worker is injured by a passing vehicle

A road worker was injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Kanawha County. Deputies said it happened about 8:45 a.m. near Winfield Road and U.S. 60 in the Amandaville area. A worker flagging traffic was struck by a passing bucket truck. The worker was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

Kanawha Valley restaurant closes

The Steak Escape in Kanawha City is permanently closed after this weekend. Workers told Eyewitness News that they were given a few days’ notice that the location would be shutting down on Sunday, July 20. No reason was given for the abrupt closure.
