Charleston Police investigating fatal shooting

Charleston police are investigating after a man was found dead on Wertz Avenue. Twenty-year-old Nathaniel Spivey was found lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Firefighters attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Snow comes just in time for ski resorts

The snow came just in time for the state’s ski resorts…Timberline opens today, and Canaan Valley’s opening day is Saturday. Winterplace and Snowshoe Mountain have been open and have a snow base of nearly four-feet.

WV DMV extending driver’s license expiration dates

The West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is extending Driver’s license expiration dates to March 31, 2021. Any license with an expiration date of March of this year, or later is being extended. You can renew online here or visit a local kiosk.

PEIA will not raise rates next year

The Public Employees Insurance Agency will not raise premiums for state employees next year. The Board approved 2021-22 coverage plans with no changes in benefits. The agency is looking ahead to the following year, and anticipates a rate hike.

South Charleston Police are spreading some holiday cheer. They are giving away Chick-Fil-A gift cards instead of traffic tickets. The Fraternal Order of Police bought 500-dollars’ worth of gift cards and donated them to the police department.

Mother convicted of killing 16-month-old

An Ohio jury convicted a Crown City woman of murder for the shooting death of her sixteen-month-old daughter earlier this year. Twenty-five-year-old Joyceann Louise Ruane faces up to life in prison without parole.
