Police searching pond for missing baby

Huntington police are searching a pond in Carter County owned by Shannon Overstreet, the father of a missing three-month-old girl. Angel Overstreet has not been seen since May 8th. Overstreet says he turned over the baby to Child Protective Services, but they have no record of receiving the child.

Kanawha County wants DOT to fix lights

The Kanawha County Commission is calling on the state Department of Transportation to address lights that are out on major highways and roads. The county Emergency Management Office conducted a survey and identified at least five problem areas.

Kanawha County Man Enters Child Pornography Plea

A Kanawha County man pleaded guilty this week to a child pornography charge. Alfred Bennett of Montgomery admitted to contacting a woman on Craigslist who was posing as her 11-year-old daughter. Officers said Bennett didn’t go through with plans for the meeting after he saw news of another man arrested for something similar.

TSA finds loaded handgun at Yeager Airport

The TSA found a handgun as a man tried to go through a security screening to board a flight at Yeager Airport. The passenger was carrying a loaded .22 caliber pistol. Local police confiscated the weapon. The man is facing a possible federal civil penalty.

Mall operator filing for bankruptcy

An Ohio company that operates two West Virginia malls is filing for bankruptcy. Washington Prime Group operates the Morgantown Mall and the Grand Central Mall in Vienna. The company cites a drop in foot traffic because of the pandemic.
