Electronics Recycler Will Create a Handful of New Jobs

An electronics recycler has opened in West Virginia and plans to hire up to 20 employees. The Charleston Area Alliance said Infinite Electronics Recycling is based in Wintersville, Ohio and opened its facility in downtown Charleston recently. There are two employees now, with plans to add more soon.

West Virginia’s charter school law is now in effect and the state is now allowed to have up to 10 charters, two virtual charters and a professional charter school board. Navy contractor fined for environmental violations

Alliant Techsystems will pay a 350-thousand-dollar fine for environmental violations at a Keyser laboratory. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory makes fuel rocket motors, explosive warheads and solid fuels for the Navy. The company was cited for violating hazardous waste storage and treatment rules and water discharge requirements.

Woman accused of biting hospital tech

A 23-year-old Madison woman is accused of biting a radiology technician at Boone Memorial Hospital. The staff was trying to put the patient in a chair during a procedure when she bit the technician on the arm. Heather Hundley is charged with malicious assault.

Justice companies sue Virginia bank

Governor Justice and his family businesses are filing a lawsuit against another financial institution over millions of dollars in loans. The lawsuit holds Carter Bank liable for more than 420-million-dollars in damages to the Justice companies.

Sen. Capito meets with President Biden

Senator Shelley Moore Capito and President Biden will meet again tomorrow. As the lead negotiator for the GOP, Capito told the President yesterday that she hopes a bi-partisan agreement can be passed in the Senate on the proposed American Jobs Plan. City of Charleston working on a plan to spend federal relief money

The City of Charleston is trying to figure out the best way to use thirty-eight-million-dollars in American Rescue Plan money. City Manager Jonathan Storage says small businesses and vulnerable populations need help. An advisory committee is going over the rules and receiving guidance from the federal government and state auditors.

City officials break ground on Slack Plaza

Mayor Amy Goodwin and other city officials broke ground on Slack Plaza. The Mayor says it will act as a city center to help connect the Coliseum and convention Center, Town Center and Capitol Street. The green space includes a stage, pathways for food trucks, and an ice skating rink in the winter.
