A man is sentenced for a Grant County arson that injured a firefighter

A West Virginia man was sentenced to several years in prison in connection with a 2022 fire that injured a firefighter in Grant County. Christopher Burns was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison on charges related to a May 2022 vacant house fire in Petersburg, according to a news release from the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office. Burns pleaded guilty to arson and causing injury during arson charges in January. He was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for arson and five years for causing injury earlier this month. Investigators said the blaze caused $30,000 worth of damage to the home.
