Putnam County Man Dies After an Officer-Involved Shooting

New details have been released by deputies in Putnam County concerning an officer-involved shooting Wednesday afternoon at a mobile home park outside Eleanor. Deputies responded to the Camelot Village Mobile Home Park on Camelot Drive for a wellness check on 24-year-old Jesse Hall who was suicidal. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Shane Shamblin said deputies tried a variety of peaceful means over the course of three hours. The man was behind closed doors in a bedroom. When deputies eventually went in, the suspect pointed a firearm at them and they fired. He was to CAMC General Hospital where he later died. West Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate.
