Attorney General Warns of Text Scam

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is warning the public of a text messaging scam that alerts consumers about packages and uses a fraud tracking number. Consumers told the attorney general’s office they received unsolicited text alerts for packages they were not expecting to have delivered. Anyone who receives a concerning text message, should delete it and not open it. Reports of the scam were made in the Kanawha Valley and in Randolph and Mineral counties.
