Five Huntington restaurants are taking part in the inaugural “Support Your First Responders Restaurant Week.” Participants in the fundraiser include Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar, Buddy’s All-American BBQ, Calamity J Grill & Bar, Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House and Rio Grande. Beginning Sunday, one restaurant will donate a percentage of its sales each day toward the creation of a First Responder Wellness Center. The wellness center would be located on the fifth floor of the Huntington Police Department, and would include exercise equipment, a nutrition center and wellness coaches. The Compass Program is the result of a $1 million Bloomberg Mayors Challenge Grant that was awarded to the City of Huntington in 2018 to combat compassion fatigue in first responders.

Sunday, Feb. 23: 7% of all sales at Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar from 11am-3pm
Monday, Feb. 24: 10% of all sales at Buddy’s All-American BBQ
Tuesday, Feb. 25: 10% of all sales at Calamity J Grill & Bar
Wednesday, Feb. 26: 10% of all sales at Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House
Thursday, Feb. 27: 10% of all sales at Rio Grande located on 5th Avenue
